First to Landscape

Facing a completely empty yard, as is often left after new construction, can be rather intimidating, So where to begin ?

 1. Place drive and walk ways.
2. Sow grass or other cover crop to retain any soil. This can be removed later to make any future planting or play areas but it is important to save what soil you have.
3. Plant shade trees. You will probably need one or two of these on the south side of your house. Take into consideration how wide the tree will eventually be and be sure to give it room. Place deciduous trees to the south, they will shade the house in summer and allow sunlight to enter in winter. Keep evergreen trees to the north and west so that they will not shade the house or drive and walk ways in winter.
